Service provision

Is Terapija.care currently open for bookings?

Terapija.care is preparing to open for consultation requests. Psychotherapy work will begin once the professional warranting process is complete. You may still send an enquiry or register interest through the contact page.

What is the free initial consultation?

The free initial consultation is a 50 minute meeting intended to explore what brings you to therapy, what kind of support you are looking for, and whether Terapija.care feels suitable. It is also a space to ask questions about the process, fees, confidentiality, online or in person sessions, and next steps.

Does the initial consultation mean therapy has started?

The initial consultation is an introductory meeting and does not automatically mean that ongoing therapy has started. Ongoing therapy begins only after suitability, expectations, fees, confidentiality, and practical arrangements are discussed and agreed.

Who can access Terapija.care?

Terapija.care intends to support adults and adolescents, including LGBTIQ+ clients, clients on the autism spectrum, people with ADHD, other neurodivergent clients, couples, parents, students, and people seeking support around emotional, relational, identity related, trauma related, or wellbeing concerns.

Do you offer therapy in person and online?

Therapy is planned to be offered in person in Malta and online, subject to suitability, professional requirements, privacy, and availability. Online therapy requires a private and confidential space, stable internet connection, and a setting where the client can speak safely.

What languages are available?

Therapy can be offered in Maltese or English, depending on what feels most natural and supportive for the person seeking help.

Can I contact Terapija.care on behalf of someone else?

You may make a general enquiry on behalf of someone else, but therapy must always be voluntary. The person who may attend therapy needs to contact Terapija.care directly and choose whether they wish to proceed.

Therapy process

What happens in therapy?

Therapy is a professional space for reflection, awareness, emotional support, and personal exploration. Sessions may involve talking, noticing emotions, exploring patterns, attending to the body, understanding relationships, working with present difficulties, and developing more self support.

What is Gestalt psychotherapy?

Gestalt psychotherapy is a relational and experiential approach that gives attention to awareness, contact, choice, the here and now, and the relationship between the person and their environment. It explores how people make meaning, how they relate, how they adapt, and what support may be needed for change.

Will I be told what to do?

Therapy is not about being told what to do. The work is collaborative. The therapist may offer observations, questions, reflections, experiments, grounding, or ways of exploring what is happening, while respecting the client’s pace, autonomy, and lived experience.

Do I need to know exactly what my goals are?

No. Some people come with clear goals, while others arrive with confusion, pain, exhaustion, or a sense that something needs attention. Goals can become clearer as the work develops.

How often are sessions held?

Ongoing therapy is usually weekly or at another agreed rhythm, depending on need, availability, suitability, and the type of therapeutic work. The frequency is discussed before ongoing therapy begins.

How long does therapy take?

There is no single answer. Some people attend therapy for a short period to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer term work. The length of therapy depends on the person’s needs, goals, circumstances, and therapeutic process.

Can therapy feel difficult?

Yes, therapy can sometimes bring up difficult feelings, memories, patterns, or realisations. The process should still be held with care, pace, and support. Difficulty in therapy is discussed openly so that the work remains safe enough and respectful.

How does therapy end?

Where possible, therapy endings are planned and discussed. The ending phase may include reviewing the work, noticing what has changed, recognising support, and preparing for what comes next.

Confidentiality and safety

Is therapy confidential?

Therapy is confidential, subject to professional, legal, safeguarding, and risk related limits. These boundaries are discussed clearly before ongoing therapy begins.

Will anyone know I am attending therapy?

Terapija.care does not share therapeutic information with other people without your consent, except where professional, legal, safeguarding, or risk related limits apply.

What if someone else is paying for my therapy?

The person paying does not become the client and does not receive information about attendance, therapy content, progress, or whether therapy continues. Confidentiality remains with the person accessing therapy.

Is Terapija.care a crisis service?

No. Terapija.care is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, contact emergency services or attend the nearest emergency department.

What information should I include in an enquiry?

You may include a brief note about what is bringing you to therapy, what kind of support you are looking for, and any relevant information you feel comfortable sharing. You do not need to share detailed or highly sensitive information in the first message.

Neurodiversity affirming support

Do you work with people on the autism spectrum and people with ADHD?

Yes. Eman has many years of experience in the disability sector and in neurodiversity affirming support, particularly with people on the autism spectrum, people with ADHD, and people with other neurodivergent conditions across different ages.

What does neurodiversity affirming therapy mean?

Neurodiversity affirming therapy respects the person’s way of experiencing, communicating, sensing, processing, relating, and making meaning. It does not aim to force someone to appear more typical. It gives attention to support, understanding, autonomy, sensory needs, masking, burnout, emotional regulation, and the person’s lived experience.

Can therapy support masking or burnout?

Therapy may support reflection around masking, exhaustion, sensory overload, social pressure, identity, emotional regulation, boundaries, and recovery. The work is shaped according to the person’s needs and pace.

Can adjustments be made in therapy?

Reasonable adjustments can be discussed. This may include communication preferences, pacing, sensory considerations, session structure, written reminders, clearer expectations, or other support that helps therapy feel more accessible.

Fees, student rates, and vouchers

Do you offer student rates?

Yes, student rates are planned. Online student sessions are listed at €30 per 50 minute session, and in person student sessions are listed at €35 per 50 minute session. Proof of current student status is required, and student rate spaces may be limited.

What proof is needed for the student rate?

Proof of current student status is required, such as a valid student card, enrolment confirmation, or another accepted form of student verification.

Can student rates be combined with packages?

Student rates are not automatically combined with therapy packages unless otherwise agreed in writing.

What are the cancellation terms?

Cancellation terms apply to individual sessions, couples sessions, and package sessions. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed without notice, will be charged in full.

Can someone purchase therapy for another person?

A therapy support voucher can allow someone to contribute towards therapy for another person. Therapy must always be voluntary, and the person receiving the voucher must contact Terapija.care directly and complete the usual consultation and suitability process.

Will the person who bought a voucher receive updates?

No. The person purchasing a voucher does not receive information about attendance, therapy content, progress, or whether the recipient continues therapy. Confidentiality remains with the person accessing therapy.

Do vouchers guarantee therapy?

No. Vouchers do not guarantee ongoing therapy and remain subject to suitability, availability, ethical boundaries, and professional requirements.

Couples, adolescents, and workplace support

Do you offer couples or relationship therapy?

Couples or relationship therapy is planned as part of the service. These sessions are 75 minutes and offer space to explore communication, conflict, trust, emotional patterns, attachment, intimacy, boundaries, and the relationship as a shared field.

Do you work with adolescents?

Yes, adolescent therapy is planned, subject to age, consent, confidentiality, parental or guardian involvement where appropriate, suitability, and professional boundaries.

Do you offer workplace support?

Yes, Terapija.care includes information about workplace therapy agreements and On the Floor Relational Coaching. These services are tailored to the needs of the organisation while protecting confidentiality, ethical boundaries, and the dignity of workers.

Can organisations receive feedback about workers in therapy?
